If Canada has ever caught your eye or captured your imagination, perhaps its time to pay this northern neighbor a visit.

Have you ever wondered about that mystery land up North? You know, the one where people talk a little differently, are supposedly nicer, and are inexplicably cheerful in the face of months and months of unbelievably cold weather? If Canada has ever caught your eye or captured your imagination, perhaps its time to pay this northern neighbor a visit.

It is the second largest country in the world, so not even the most hard-core travelers have seen very much of this maple-leafed land. You probably find the idea of a visit overwhelming, considering that you don’t know where to start or which way to go from there. It’s best to take a moment to examine your vacation goals, and everything will surely begin to fall into place from there.

In spite of the fact that this country is pretty rough and rugged across most of its acres, city lovers will find plenty of intriguing options here. Ignore the uppermost reaches of the nation and think cosmopolitan; Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver all have well over a million people and will give you a taste of urban life that’s part European, part American, mostly Je ne sais quoi.

Toronto is the busiest bee of Canada, filled with businesses, residential areas, sports arenas, and anything else that “regular” cities have. What’s different about Toronto is that it is a melting pot of nationalities and historic settlements that have come together brilliantly. A large number of people who live here weren’t born here, making for a fascinating and exciting cultural atmosphere.

Visitors to Toronto will thus feel at home, as you’re sure to run into a familiar influence somewhere in the city no matter where you’ve come from. Check out the skyline, relax on the beach, walk or bike through downtown, or take in a hockey game or a play. This worldly city offers countless world-class entertainments, so be sure to keep your eyes open and your itinerary flexible. You never know what you’ll end up doing, but it’s sure to be an adventure.

If you’d like to get a feel for an older side of Canada, make a stop in Montreal. Quebec’s largest city and considered to be one of the most cultured and attractive in the world, this heaven for francophones will wow you with its constant delights. If you come in the summer, take advantage of the pleasant weather and make walking your primary means of getting around. Old Montreal is made up of cobblestone streets and buildings erected hundreds of years ago. Wandering this area will be like traveling back in time, and you’ll truly feel like you’ve crossed the ocean to a lost European town.

To truly immerse yourself in the culture of either of these cities, or one of Canada’s other metropolitan hotspots, then consider renting a loft located in the heart of all the action. Blend into the diverse crowds and live like a Canadian for a few days, enjoying the view from your trendy apartment and stocking your kitchen with local fare. There’s no better way to forget your current stresses than by living incognito for an extended break, so assume a new identity and head for the big city.

Another aspect of Canada that begs to be enjoyed is its untamed wilderness and incomparable scenery. Regions like Mont Tremblant in Quebec and the coastal islands of British Colombia are simply incomparable. Ski vacations in the winter or languid summer sessions by the sea will surely meet anyone’s expectations for what a vacation should be, so if you’ve always thought of Canada’s terrain as mostly hostile or boring, think again.

You might see a moose or two, thus reinforcing a persistent stereotype, but nothing else will allow this to happen. Lush gardens, whale sightings, farmer’s markets, and fine restaurants will all beg to fill your days, so plan to stay a while to properly appreciate everything.

Do this by settling into a quaint cottage in view of the water, with the sandy beach as your backyard and rooms filled with every comfort you can imagine. Or perhaps, if you are brave enough for a winter visit, claim a slope side cabin that will make skiing seem the most natural thing in the world. Choices abound, so do a little research and start planning the kind of vacation that other people dream about but never take.

There are plenty of Canada vacation rentals to ponder, so go online and take a look. You’ll be breaking the mold by heading to this welcoming and possibility-filled land, so be sure to do it in style.

Visit CyberRentals.com for glimpses of unique vacation rentals located all over the world.

If you are already planning your arrival to Canada, you must be asking yourself if you will be able to work there!

Before moving to Canada, you should learn as much as possible about working in Canada. Since there is no guarantee that you will find work in your preferred occupation, it is very important to be fully aware and prepared about the Canadian regulations and job opportunities.

First of all, I recommend updating your résumé and cover letter. You should have them ready when you arrive to Canada.
As explained by CIC, you should consider the following facts before looking for a job in Canada:

- You may need to have your credentials assessed and recognized and you may have to be licensed;

- Depending on your profession, you may need to take additional courses;

- You may need to complete examinations or you may need to take a job specific test.

Even though you are not required to have these credentials for the immigration process, they will be very important when you look for a job in Canada.

Remember, knowledge is power. The more you know about the Canadian immigration process, the easier it will be to submit your Permanent Residence visa application.

Good luck in Canada!

Canada has a National Hiking Trail. Formerly known as the Sentier National Trail, Canada’s National Hiking Trail is planned to stretch over ten thousand kilometers. Although Canada has other trails, like the Trans Canada Trail, that are able to be used for multiple uses, the National Hiking Trail is intended for foot use only.

Canada has been working on this trail since 1971. As of today, only three-thousand kilometers of the trek have ever been completed. This means that the Canadians have still not even finished building half of the hike they envisioned. The sections that are finished differ greatly in their lengths. Some sections are only a few kilometers, while other sections are several hundred kilometers long. Some of these major portions of the National Hiking Trail even stretch across the larger Canadian cities of Quebec and Ontario. The Ontario section actually follows the Voyager Trail.

Some sections of the National Hiking Trail merge with the Trans Canada Trail. Other areas parts of the trail offer alternative hiking routes to the Trans Canada Trail, which is useful for people who get nervous from hiking around bikers. For the most part, the National Trail contains rugged terrain that would be too much for the majority of skiers to handle. Although, more experienced skiers and snowshoers actually do utilize parts of the trail.

The National Trail is a beautiful place to experience the natural pleasures of the strange wilderness country to the north of the United States. it provides an excellent motivation for people to schedule holidays to Canada.

The incredible natural beauty of Canada has always been a big draw card for international tourists, but there are certain other appealing factors that help make it one of the world’s tourism hot spots.

Over 20 million people visit Canada each year and it’s commonly lauded as one of the world’s most livable countries. Its’ cosmopolitan cities are well known for being clean and safe and its people friendly and multicultural. The majority of Canada’s tourists are American.

With so many tourists arriving every year, there’s subsequently a lot of pressure on the accommodation industry. B and B in Canada is regarded as one of the best options for those who seek more amenities and comfort than camping and less costs than staying at a hotel. Traditionally, these popular establishments are situated away from the hustle and bustle of Canada’s urban cities. There are a number mountains, glaciers, forests and lakes in the country and it’s within these surroundings that you’ll find some of the best b and b establishments. For those who like to have the best of both worlds, there are some b & bs that are located in quiet, relaxing surroundings that are also close to urban cities such as Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal.

A B and B in Canada is often regarded as the next best thing to staying with friends or family. The people that run them are mostly friendly, plus some of them will cook your meals, make your bed and do the cleaning. They are particular popular with single people who like to travel alone but also like friendly company along the way.

This form of accommodation is also highly popular with couples wanting to get away for a quiet, relaxing and romantic weekend in the countryside. It’s not uncommon to find romantic packages that come with an itinerary of specific daily activities.

Canada runs coast to coast from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. The Niagara Falls, The Great Lakes and the Rocky Mountains are just a few world famous features that help make Canada one of the most picturesque countries in the world.

Before you book your b and b in Canada, you’ll need to ask a number of important questions to ensure you get just what you’re looking for. You may like to know if they offer 3 meals a day or you may have other questions in regards to amenities and services. A number of online accommodation guides are available that include information on where to find accommodation that suits your needs.

The Number 1 Bed & Breakfast Website is a joint venture between B&B websites of various countries to create one truly global site. 1bbweb.com is on the way to fulfilling the aim of being the best bed & breakfast site in the world. In the short time we have been accepting international listings we have achieved a membership of nearly 10.000 members from USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, as well as increasing numbers from European and Asian countries.

Sometime in the near future make the time and effort to Travel Transcontinental by Train across Canada. It is one of the most memorable and truly spectacular journeys in the world.

Sometime in the near future make the time and effort to Travel Transcontinental by Train across Canada. It is one of the most memorable and truly spectacular journeys in the world. Plan your trip well and make the most of a journey that will take a minimum of 7 – 10 days or more depending on your stopovers in various cities and locations. It is very likely you will travel at least 5,500 kilometres, covering 5 different time zones.

Canada is the world’s second largest country and yet has a very small population estimated at just over 34 million people (2010 estimates). The majority of the population live in towns and cities close to the United States border. Northern Canada is more remote and much colder. There is no question that Canada is a land of exceptional beauty with many different and varied contrasts.

When you travel by Train it affords you the time to experience, embrace and witness this magnificent country from the Pacific west coast to the Atlantic east coast across the North American continent. The stunning scenery will leave you gasping in amazement with images that will live forever in the canyons of your mind.

I recommend the journey to commence in Vancouver, British Columbia on the west coast and to terminate the epic train ride in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the east coast. Travelling this route allows you to visit a number of great cities and towns such as Jasper, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto (make sure to visit Niagara Falls – American and Canadian), Montreal and Quebec. Before entering Toronto you will by-pass the Great Lakes of North America. The winter Olympic city of Vancouver is definitely worth spending a few days in to see some of the beautiful sites before starting on your venture.

This fantastic trip will enable you to see and take in 2 great Oceans – The Pacific and the Atlantic, many great rivers, the magnificent Great Lakes and other lakes besides, phenomenal landscapes, forests that stretch as far as the eye can see, spectacular valleys, awesome mountains and of course the majestic Rockies.

Ensure to take a very good quality camera preferably with a zoom lens and capture forever the breathtaking scenery that will live forever in your memory. Just be sure to take the necessary time to enable you to appreciate what you see. This is one movie you are definitely going to nominate for an academy award once you have experienced the almighty and daunting embrace of Canada first hand.

The epic train journey across Canada, like no other in the world, will terminate in Halifax – a city so different compared to the other amazing cities of Canada. Every Canadian city has it’s own unique style. When you’re finished in Halifax and had time to enjoy the culture, if you have the money and time you can then travel back west by Train and benefit from the total experience again going the other way! This is one of those events of a lifetime – travelling by train across Canada.

The outstanding natural beauty of the Canadian landscape and the supremely multicultural metropolitan environments give Canada vacation rentals holidaymakers a multitude of holiday types to choose from.

Canada is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Niagra Falls. A visit to the natural phenomenon is a stupendous, breathtaking experience; with attractions present both day and night. The evening illuminations are a particularly spectacular sight. Over 20 million visitors were thought to have visited the Niagra Falls over the course of 2009, underlining its vast appeal to a worldwide audience.

Canada remains a half-English, half-French speaking nation, with the city of Quebec the predominant French quarter, with its heritage and lifestyle still largely French orientated. In fact Quebec is one of the only remaining cities in North America to have preserved its Francophone culture, having been a French colony for more than two centuries.

Similarly Vancouver and Toronto are the two other most popular metropolitan Canada vacation rentals visited by tourists. Vancouver is ranked as one of the most livable cities in the world, with its breathtaking scenery and modest climate combining with a welcoming atmosphere for all. Toronto is also a great place for holidaymakers to base themselves for an Ontario Canada vacation rental, with its wonderful heritage and sporting culture a joy to behold.

Nevertheless, if the great outdoors particularly takes your fancy then Canada holiday rentals offer a great selection of activity holidays from camping to skiing, or hiking or kayaking your way across the country. Canada also boasts a number of festivals throughout the year including music and film festivals to the Calgary Stampede in July, which has a rodeo, chuck wagon races, grandstand shows and more.

For British holidaymakers, a Canada vacation rental can seem like a home from home in many respects, but the glorious landscape and scenery is worth the trip alone.

For a great selection of Canada vacation rentals visit vacationrentalpeople.com, the vacation home specialists.

The big cities, mountains and incredible waterways of Canada make this a favorite destination for Americans. Driving across the border, however, does come with its share of precautions. Unlike a few years ago when Americans barely needed to present identification to cross, the rules of the road have changed.

If you plan on driving in Canada and will be bringing your own car or a rental, you will need to be certain to have:

Passports for all passengers – The rules of entry into Canada from the United States have changed. To err on the side of caution, it is a very good idea to have passports in place for all passengers in the car. Other forms of identification are also a good idea, such as a valid license to drive, birth certificate copies for young passengers and so on. If you do not have a passport, check with American authorities in advance of a trip for the requirements.

Exercise care when traveling with children – If you are travelling with young children and both parents are not present, it is a good idea to have written permission from the other parent for the crossing. This can speed up crossing.

Proper registration – Make sure to have legal vehicle registration and/or a lease contract for a rental car. Authorities are on the lookout for people trying to traffic stolen vehicles across the border. It is best to be able to fully prove you own or have rights to the car you are driving.

Proof of insurance – It is also possible border agents will ask to see proof of insurance coverage before you are allowed to cross. If you have a rental, bring a copy of your insurance or even consider buying the riders from the rental car company.

Once you make it across the border, you will need to know a few things about Canadian driving to ensure a safe and fun journey. Be sure to follow these tips:

Drive on the proper side of the road – Canadians drive on the same side of the road as Americans. Do not let the accents fool you.

Follow posted speed limits – The wide open roads found in many parts of Canada can be tempting. Resist the urge to speed though. Pay attention to local rules and do exercise common courtesy on the roadways.

Remember pedestrians have the right of way – Canada gives pedestrians the right of way at crossings. Keep an eye out for people and give them the time they need to cross. Also pay attention for animals when driving in rural areas. Canada is not quite as developed as America. This means spotting deer, moose and other creatures is not uncommon. Be watchful to avoid accidents.

Driving in Canada is actually a lot like driving in the United States. Just be mindful of the local laws and have the right paperwork in order for the crossing. To keep up with any changes in entry regulations, check with Canadian customs prior to making the trip.

Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Find out how you can lose the burdens of everyday stress by visiting this unique, and sparsely populated land. It's one of the best places to learn more about yourself.

As a former “Worker bee” I know what it’s like to feel completely bogged down by the stress of everyday life. It’s not a pleasant feeling. I was fortunate enough to realize this early on, and have since made some radical changes into finding out what makes me tick. In general I believe it’s travel, music, family and friends, however I’m sure there’s a few more things in between each of those that helps makes my clock spin.

At this stage in my life I’m trying to see as much of Canada as possible. Over the last couple years I’ve been traveling off and on, particularly through Canada. The thing I’ve noticed most, is that Canada is remote. It’s no “island in the middle of nowhere”, but if you’re looking for an escape from the rat race or from the life you’ve built, traveling Canada can be a great escape.

Canada is the second largest country in the world, and with only ~33 Million people residing in this massive landscape, it doesn’t take long to find yourself completely secluded for miles (or kilometers) in any direction. Take Saskatchewan, the province I grew up in and proudly call my home. This oddly shaped province is roughly the size of France, but with 1/60th the population. If you’re driving through the country, it’s hard not to find yourself in the middle of nowhere.

Saskatchewan isn’t completely unique in this sense. The majority of Canada resides in the southern portions of the country. The further North you go, the fewer people you will find. I’m not a very spiritual person, but there is something surreal in knowing that no matter how loud you scream, nobody will hear you. It’s a calming thought knowing that there are still places on this big blue rock we call Earth that remain untouched, unchanged, unreformed by the 7.5 Billion people living on it.

They say that the easiest way to find yourself is to be alone. Travel to Canada and find out for yourself. Get out of the metropolitan centers. Leave your car. Leave your habits, your hobbies, yourself, and look within. It can be an overwhelming experience for those who have never attempted. Take 30 minutes out of your lifetime, and feel something new.Do something new. Experience parts of the world you’ve never seen. Canada’s the perfect fit.

He’s planning on hitting the road in a few days to check out Price Edward Island, which is Canada’s smallest province and birthplace of Canada.

Are you venturing to Canada for your next holiday? Are you looking for an accommodation option that will immerse you into the Canadian culture and lifestyle? If so, you should look into b and b accommodation. Why? Because the personalised nature of this style of lodging will give you a unique experience unlike other traditional lodging options, such as hotels. Soak up the local knowledge and friendly hospitality renowned from bed and breakfast hosts, whom have either lived in Canada for all, if not a large majority, of their lives.

With over 10,000 b and b establishments spread across Canada you will not struggle to locate a provider. Canada has 13 provincial regions including: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan and Yukon.
Canada offers tourists an enormous range of sites and attractions such as the beautiful Niagara Falls and the impressive mountain scenery found in the Banff and Jasper National Parks. Not only is Canada rich in adventure, wildlife and nature based activities, there are also many cultural and historical sites to visit and explore.

If you have never been to Canada before it can be a little overwhelming not knowing what any of the main cities and towns are called. We have provided a very basic list to help familiarise you with at least a few names of the cities and towns found in each provincial region, so that you may search for examples of B&B accommodations within each of these provinces.

Alberta – Calgary, Jasper and Edmonton
British Columbia – Whistler, Vancouver, Victoria, Tofino and Kelowna
Manitoba – Manitoba, Brandon and Thompson
New Brunswick – Saint John, Bathurst and Woodstock
Newfoundland / Labrador – Avondale, Duffield and Grand Bank
Yukon / Northwest Territories – Arctic Bay, Faro and Whitehorse
Nova Scotia – Cape Breton, Kentville and Middleton
Ontario – Algonquin Park, Barrie, Niagara Falls and Hamilton
Prince Edward Island – Alberton, Clinton and Montague
Quebec – Beaumont, Caplan and Orford
Saskatchewan – Regina, Saskatoon and White Fox

Of course this is not an exhaustive list; there are dozens more cities and towns within each of these provincial regions. Finding a B and B in Canada is easy as this form of accommodation is well established and widespread across the country. We hope your holiday and b and b experience in Canada leaves a memorable and lasting impression of your time in this remarkable country.
